I have lots of respect for the AAT program and its qualifications the junior accounting staff I have taken on over the years if AAT qualified are always good. What is seems particularly helpful is building the basic knowledge – strangely stronger accountancy qualifications such as ACCA or CIMA don’t always do that. My theory is that AAT students spend more time on the basic tasks and hence become better at them.
